Brother Ivan Cormac letter to St Mel Class of 1967 for the 50th Reunion
TO: MEMBERS OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY CLASS
FROM: FATHER IVAN CORMAC MARSH, O. CARM.
(FORMERLY BROTHER IVAN CORMAC, FSC)
Dear Members of the Class of 1967,
Some of you might remember me. I was stationed at Saint Mel for only one year, and that was a good year for me. I taught religion to the junior class. That year I was also moderator of the Junior Class. I also directed the school glee club, an organization to which many of this class participated. The glee club was my pride and joy, and those who belonged worked very hard to make it a success. You might remember that Brother Damien was our piano player; he was a gifted musician. (See attached pictures).
I wish to inform you that I will be unable to attend your 50th, though I wish I could. I hope to receive from someone some pictures with names so that I have a memento of this great occasion. I am now 80 years ‘young,’ and still going strong in my retirement here in Tucson, Arizona. If any of you live in the neighborhood, I would enjoy some contact. I also get to Phoenix and Scottsdale from time to time. (We have a parish there.)
May you truly enjoy this celebration. Know that I will be keeping all of you in my masses and prayers, especially those who may have died over the years.
Saint John Baptist De La Salle.
Live Jesus in our hearts!
Forever!
Sincerely,
Father Ivan Cormac
