Joe Mugnaini's Dream now a Reality
Class of 1967 Knight Joe Mugnaini's venture in creating a supportive living facility is now open. It's in Gurnee. Web link to the site is below. Joe ( third from left) is excited about it. He's really not mentioned personally on web site, but his company is Moon Development which is shown on bottom of home page. After many, many years of hard work for Joe, it's a reality for him.
Stonebridge of Gurnee offers a high standard of Supportive Living. Their community provides assistance with activities of daily living while allowing residents to maintain their independence.
At Stonebridge, residents live in their own private apartments, utilizing many different services designed to meet their unique needs, remaining as independent as possible while enjoying socialization with peers.
Illinois developed the Supportive Living Program (SLP) as a cost-effective alternative to Nursing Home Care for low-income older persons and persons with physical disabilities who are currently under the Medicaid program.
By offering personal care and other services, residents can live independently and certainly take part in their care and decision making.
Management is by Journey Senior Living. Developers The Burton Foundation and Moon Development (Class of ‘67 Knight, Joe Mugnaini) partnered for the Stonebridge of Gurnee project. It is a 120-unit facility providing housing, hospitality and care to adults (ages 22 to 64) with physical disabilities. The 85,346 square foot facility consists of 98 studios and 22 1-bedroom apartments. Each studio and apartment will have fully ADA compliant washrooms and living spaces with easy access to all common area amenities throughout the building.
Supportive Living Facilities are an affordable alternative to private pay assisted living facilities for those who do not need the full range of nursing facility care but may benefit from supportive services in an apartment.
The facility will provide the following services to the residents: nurse assistant care, social and recreational programming, health promotion and exercise programs, 24-hour response and security staff, personal care, laundry, medication oversight, ancillary services, housekeeping, maintenance and communal meal service. The developers are excited to have constructed a facility that will help provide high quality housing for those with disabilities in Gurnee and Lake County.
